Just to be clear - the Dems aren’t turning on him because he’s a Nazi sympathizer. They’re turning on him because they think he will lose.

Great point

Headline says it all.

Over on X Cenk Ugyur is blaming AIPAC and doesn’t believe the allegations. I guess

1. “Believe all women” no longer applies and

2. AIPAC broke into this poor woman’s home and raped her.

Of course, my dog could have written that for Cenk.

I just walked my dog and he dropped a large Cenk on the lawn 🤣

I’m laughing so hard.

I don't believe it either because I doubt a man who is "blackout drunk" could get it up.

Especially if they are Republicans or conservative - then they don’t count I guess

It’s telling how desperate Democrats are for candidates that they dug this guy up in the first place. It’s also telling how nakedly partisan they have become. Trump has driven them insane (which is, of course, part of his strategy). I think they’re doomed in November.

"That ex-girlfriend was dismissed because she’s a Republican."

Whatever happened to "believe all women"?

PapayaSF's avatar

The same thing that happened to “Sex with a subordinate is per se sexual abuse” when Bill Clinton got caught doing it.

It seems a penchant for “ Jew hate” and the virtue signaling of “believe all women “ have created a dilemma for the democrats. But” vote blue no matter who “ will prevail as trump hate takes precedence over anything else.

Lance S's avatar

The results of the ny primaries bear that out.

Thank you Batya. Sometimes I feel that we are treated as idiots.

"They defended him from accusations of physical abuse. They defended him from mocking veterans. They defended him blaming women for their own sexual assaults. Worst of all, they defended his Nazi tattoo." All true and all vile, but I would argue that even without all of this, he would end up losing anyway because he is a pretend-oyster farmer-mamma's boy. Maine is pretty blue but phony blue collar waterfront candidates won't garner enough votes from real waterfront workers to win. Sail away, anti-semite.

This is the party that platformed Michael Avenatti near 300 times on national cable with zero evidence because he would bash Trump. They can’t be trusted.

Should NEVER have been a candidate. Shame on all the enablers

He now will drop out and the Dims will simply appoint someone to run in his place, just like they did with Joe Biden

And that someone will lose. Self inflicted, again.

What could possibly be “controversial” about sporting a Nazi tattoo for 18 years?

Dave Campbell's avatar

I hope all the big donors who funded his campaign think twice the next time they consider backing a Nazi sympathizer. Now he can go back to his oyster farm bankroled by his daddy.

I wonder how much damage has already been done. I hope and pray with all my might that we are done with this animal!!

I agree about the Nazi tattoo, but I have to push back on the idea that allegations are facts: "Obviously, it’s better for the Democrats to drop an alleged rapist than stand by him." No! All this does is create a backlash. Women (and men) can and do make all kinds of accusations, especially when there's sufficient motivation, but the rule of law demands the presumption of innocence until due process proves otherwise. Whatever happened to that idea? It seems social media has created a new mob rule where if enough people (how many are enough?) deemed credible by some arbitrary popularity contest get to destroy people with accusations. It's a kind of cancellation and it's wrong. Dump that sleazy moron, but not because of one-sided narratives that may or may not be true.

Robert Seip's avatar

Uhh, the guy is running for the US Senate, not the HOA vice-presidency. If this guy gets "destroyed" he is the one responsible for the destruction. Yes, 'rule of law' applies - so press charges (Ms Racicot), put the case before a jury and let it play out. But the US Senate? No, definitely not.

Andrew P's avatar

How long does she have left to press charges under Maine law? They did not give an exact date for the allegations, but only said it was "late in 2021". That could mean anything after June 1. Is 5 years a statute of limitations in Maine? This also makes me suspicious that she must have been very well paid by the OCDs to go to the Media now.

Brigid LaSage's avatar

Yeah, like I said they should dump him. He's got more substantiated strikes against him than an ex girlfriend's belated rape story. I'm just so tired of rape allegations being used as political weapons. It's becoming a joke, and legitimate victims will pay the price.

Excellent Batya! Thanks for pushing this news out so FAST! Let's see if the legacy media leads with the story. Ha ha.
