The “affordability” campaign feels like it was generated in a focus group, without regard for the underlying causes. The Democrats are the prime advocates for the forces that create unaffordability. They want more taxes and regulations, which raise prices. They want deficit spending for more free benefits, which causes inflation. They want mass immigration, which increases housing costs and lowers wages. It’s like arsonists campaigning against fires.
I don’t know why any politician or commentator/pundit thinks they “know” what Americans want because they throw around that phrase a lot. I do not want ANYTHING the Democrats put forth.
None of this from the Jackassery makes any sense, whatsoever. First, there is nothing that Democrats can do to improve affordability except to send out more stimulus checks and to "cancel" debt. They do not understand the most fundamental principle and fact of debt... that is that all debts are paid. Either by the lendee or by the lendor and in government's case, the lendee is the lendor. Everything else that the Jackassery proposes will increase the cost of everything. They want an increase in wages, which means the costs of services and goods go up. They want to limit automation so that people have something to do. That increases the cost of goods. They want more regulations, which increases costs of performance. There is literally nothing that they propose that will improve affordability. The only effective way that government can do this is to reduce the cost of doing business, ultimately by reducing the cost of government, thus reducing taxes.
On the issue of ICE and the Jackassery's proposal of abolishing ICE, what do they propose to replace it with? Are they just going do away with immigration law altogether? If they do, citizenship will lose its value and Obama's goal of constructing an America that no one would defend will be achieved.

The bill will sound like "costs, go down!". How about them stopping driving the costs up? Didn't we already get the "affordable" health care?
Really excellent point. The cost of health insurance has more than doubled since it became "affordable".
This why the polls showing broad bipartisan agreement are misleading. Republicans and Democrats mean something entirely different by fair elections.

Surprised they didn’t want HR1 to cut of all aid to Israel.

Wouldn’t it be great if Republicans adopted a similar initiative?
They have, or at least, the White House has by reducing the cost of government, reducing fraud, and reducing other crime.
Another brilliant piece—the dems just can’t help themselves and don’t really care about pro-poor economic policies
