Interesting interview…not a huge fan of libertarians as I find them all to be the most non-productive absolutists. Also when cornered they fall back on their nonsensical overall philosophical libertarian zero government involvement which is so frickin absurd in reality when you live in such a large country as we do with so many people. Matt seemed sensible overall though and I can see a lot of agreement in both camps. Great interview. 👍👍
I used to consider myself a small-L libertarian. But during the last few years I have realized that most of them are, in fact, ideological absolutists. They have no pragmatic answers. Which is probably why the party has remained so small and fringy.
I realize now that I am, and always have been, a classical liberal.
Regarding coming back on the 5th, your views will get hearty debate in the comments but it’s important to note how uniformly pro-Israel and pro-jew everyone is. I guess my point is you’d be in good company. Besides, who else is going to keep Moynihan honest.
I’m so enjoying this. The TFC guys have a magical rapport with each other, but it’s fun to get to hear one of the gents express himself as an individual without getting interrupted for a change. Great conversation, Batya.
For what it’s worth I am a never free stater from New Hampshire. Most of the free staters are imports to our beautiful live free or die state. Thank you, Matt for answering.
Thank you for this great interview with Matt. I’ve listened to him many times, and still, surprisingly, learned many things about him and his views during this interview that I had not known before.
Matt,
You gave a good answer to Zach, but I feel that it fell short of addressing the full depth of his question. I have long struggled with the same concerns that he raised. Ccould you further elaborate on Zach’s question, either here, or on the TFC podcast?
Much better than I thought it would be. I like Welch despite of his inability to formulate substantive positions or arguments on much of anything. You delightfully asked thought provoking questions and pleasantly pushed back.

I really enjoyed this interview. Thank you Batya!
This reaffirmed why I subscribe to TFC and here, even if the answer to my question was, "I wish I knew."

I was happy that some acknowledged Batya’s hair! 😄

Yes! Trump changed the GOP but also exposed the RINOS.
