You must admit, Batya, that the Democrats got themselves “a real man” in Platner. He is utterly despicable. This Nazi, woman beating blowhard pairs quite nicely with the gated community (in Uganda - it HAD to be Uganda), communist, Jew hating, Hamas apologist presently serving as mayor of NYC. The Democrats sure can pick ‘em.

This is disturbing. Of course the only thing Democrats actually care about is power.

“I never thought I’d live to see the day that the Democrats would give up that moral high ground”. Really?? In what era did they have the moral high ground?

I love the comments equating President Trump with a pos like Platner. They throw around the unsubstantiated stories that Trump was a pedophile, a rapist, an abuser, yada yada yada. He has never been convicted of any of those things and yet the Dems don’t have anything else to hang on a successful businessman who is now one of our greatest presidents. Instead the Dems give us a senile old man who can’t find his way out of a paper bag, a race hustler, and a truly despicable Epstein pal (why isn’t Bill held accountable for all those trips to Epstein island?). And now we have them sinking to new lows with Platner and Mamdami. Good thing a majority of Americans aren’t buying what the disgusting Dems are selling.

They never had the moral high ground. Almost all politicians have one main goal: winning or retaining power, and any "morals" that they hold are in service to that goal. They just can't publicly admit it, which is why it's hilarious seeing the mental gymnastics by people like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies about Platner.

The Democratic Party showed how much they valued women back in 1993 when they fawningly supported Slick Willie.

Then there is their donor base which they so eagerly pursue and worship.

Get a fucking clue.

You sound like someone who is concerned about the GOP losing the Senate after spending years defending the nepo baby/woman abusing President you worship. Do you ever listen to yourself? Democrats realized you and your MAGA choir would never hold the President to any standard no matter what he did or said. So it looks like the Democrats lowered their standards for a jerk like Platner. And now you are mad that they just called your bluff??Quite amusing to read, Batya.

A sign of the times perhaps. Sowing the dragons teeth.

They only ever held it in their own minds, given by the narratives their ‘news’ services pushed.

They aren’t ‘losing the high ground’. They are being exposed finally as what they’ve always been.

Let's not forget that it's also Democrats pushing the misogynistic lie that men can magically transform into women just because they say so.

You can't govern a country that you don't live in. Only occupy it.

I watched Chris Murphy on Real Time Friday night and was sickened by his refusal to condemn Platner. Instead he said Platner was "an imperfect candidate" (that's an understatement), and "it's up to the people of Maine to decide." So...using this logic, was it not also "up to the people" to decide whether Trump was fit for office? If so, why are the Democrats so bothered by Trump's behavior? I've been a Democrat for 38 years - ever since I registered to vote in 1988 - but I think it's time I became an Independent.

This is the state of desperation of the Democrats to regain power

Batya: Just out of curiosity, are your "real man" standards (a person who remains faithful to his spouse, who does not use his wealth and power to bully women) and "nepo baby" criticisms relevant to any Republican candidates that YOU'VE supported in the past? Maybe in the 2024 presidential election perhaps?

Please spare us your sermon on hypocrisy. You told us in 2024 that a man's serial philandering, abuse of power, silver spoon background, and history of misbehavior with women (20+ women have accused the president of abuse as a reminder) were all worth ignoring because of policy preferences.

Don't be surprised when voters on the other side come to the same conclusion.

This is genuinely a master class in missing the point.

Maine was given the option of an AIPAC boomer stooge or an imperfect candidate.

They took the imperfect candidate.

And that was the right choice, even if all the genocide apologists disagree.

*Especially* because all the genocide apologists disagree.

AIPAC boomer stooge? Screw you.
