CBS News Is Very Disappointed That Voters Are Getting What They Voted For
The latest "scoop" shows that the President's deportation agenda is targeting exactly who voters want targeted—much to the elite media's chagrin.
A new CBS News report has some shocking news that seems to confirm what the Democrats have been telling you since President Trump began carrying out his mass deportation agenda—the central campaign promise of his 2024 presidential run. “Less than 14% of those arrested by ICE in Trump’s 1st year back in office had violent criminal records, document shows,” reads the headline. The piece goes on: “Less than 14% of nearly 400,000 immigrants arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in President Trump's first year back in the White House had charges or convictions for violent criminal offenses, according to an internal Department of Homeland Security document obtained by CBS News.”
How dare they! You can just hear the Democrats crowing. We told you! Trump promised he would only deport the worst of the worst! And look at him now—only 14% have a violent criminal offense!
Only… Trump didn’t promise to only deport the worst of the worst. What he actually promised was that he was going to carry out “the largest deportation operation in American history.” And he promised that because it is popular.
As we noted in another recent piece, contrary to the “ICE Out” preferences of the leftist elites, the clear majority of Americans still favor deporting every illegal alien in the country. Not just the worst of the worst—but every single one. That’s what three new polls found at the end of January, even after the tragic deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti:
A new Harvard/Harris poll found that 52% of Americans support deporting all illegal aliens.
A new Marquette poll found that 56% of Americans support deporting all illegal aliens.
A new Cygnal poll found that a whopping 61% of Americans support deporting all illegal aliens.
Those number jump astronomically when it comes to illegal aliens accused of committing a crime. 78% of Americans support deporting those aliens—and sorry, CBS, but they didn’t specify “violent crimes.”
It’s true that there’s been some pushback to ICE, and President Trump’s approval on immigration has slipped. But the Harvard/Harris poll found that his strongest issue was his response to the protests in Minneapolis.
I explained why so many Americans support mass deportations in a piece published this morning:
It’s not because they are racists, as the Left would have you believe, that Americans support mass deportations; it’s because they are sick of being robbed of the American Dream, whether it’s in the form of wage theft or housing and healthcare competition or illegal aliens killing their family members. It’s because what makes us a country is having a national border and respect for the rule of law, and you can’t have those things if there are zero consequences for breaking law, for entering illegally, for overstaying visas, and for fake asylum claims. And the majority still support ICE doing the hard job of carrying out deportations, because contrary to what the elites might tell you, you can’t just nicely ask illegal aliens to kindly leave and expect them all to. Someone has to go get them.
Of course, the elites have only benefited from mass migration. They love the access to cheap labor, which is why they always bemoan the deportation of nannies and Home Depot day laborers. But for working-class Americans, for American nannies and construction workers and truckers, mass migration has been an unbelievable hardship.
Yet while the majority of Americans tell pollsters again and again that they support deporting illegal migrants and while 80% want those who have committed a crime deported, for the folks at CBS, it’s a disgrace that only 14% are violent criminals.
Apparently, all the non-violent felons should be allowed to stay. According to CBS, it's immoral to deport identity thieves, fraudsters, drunk drivers, smugglers, distributers of child pornography, and human traffickers—because these crimes can be committed non-violently, don’t you see.
As Bill Mellugin of Fox News pointed out, Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin’s illegal alien killers had no “violent” criminal history beforehand. Neither did the illegal aliens who killed Sabine Durden-Coulter’s son Dominic, or who maimed Marcus Coleman’s daughter Dalilah. Should they all be given amnesty because they had no violent criminal history? CBS’s numbers also don’t account for illegal aliens convicted of crimes in other countries, who apparently it is wrong to deport!
What the piece reveals is the gap between what the average American wants and the desires of the elites who actually support mass amnesty rather than mass deportations. They begrudgingly now pretend to support deporting criminals—but only the most violent ones. Hence piece after piece with sympathetic portrayals of identity fraudsters who have destroyed the lives of American citizens. The elites in the mainstream media truly do not understand why they must go.
The truth is, the Trump administration is doing exactly what most Americans want. Included in the CBS report is the fact that almost 60% of ICE arrestees over the past year had criminal charges or convictions. The rest had “civil immigration violations”—the exact violations most Americans want accountability for, regardless of what the elites in the media seem to think.
The Democrats desperately want you to believe that public opinion is turning against deporting illegal aliens because they don’t want them deported. Rich elites rely on the cheap labor of illegal migrants, and don’t have to compete with them in the job or housing market or for health care. But if public support for mass migrations hasn’t changed after what happened in Minneapolis, it’s hard to see that happening.
Americans deserve a media that represents them instead of one that disapproves of them, sneering down at them from the heights of the economic privilege of its journalists.

What is the Dem plan for reducing the number of illegal/undocumented immigrants that are present in the population? This is what people want — fewer undocumented immigrants present in the overall population. What’s the plan for that? Even if it is to increase amnesty or documentation that would be a plan. Just leaving them here “as is” is NOT a plan. it’s a tacit admission that Biden’s unpopular open borders policy is THE policy they favor. that is political suicide.
There are other aspects to illegal immigration besides crime. A nationwide safety crackdown on truckers last month took 700 truckers off the road. Of those 500 were not proficient in English. I don't know how many of those might have been here illegally; however, some of the horrendous crashes have involved drivers who were here illegally.
