Batya: I always enjoy your writing, but especially appreciate your ability to articulate what you believe in a debate or interview setting. Keep doing what you do (and I know you will)!
Batya, I was about to tap the paid subscriber button but I have a question. $80 a year which translates to $6.67 a month. But then you have a monthly for five bucks a month. I don't understand the math. $80 vs $60?
I am looking for sites/writers that are devoted to truth. I follow Tlabbi because of this. I subscribed to the Free press/Weiss Until she joined CBS. I am going to subscribe and read/follow you and become a paying subscriber if satisfied. I wish you all the best!!
I love your writing and I really appreciate your commitment to journalistic integrity. After watching your interview on Denis Prager's Fireside Chat (as a Brit, I hadn't come across your work previously), I bought Bad News and loved it. It was fascinating to learn how journalism and the newspaper industry evolved over so many years and to understand the sudden change - for the worse, imo - that hit the industry 10/15 years ago. Actually there are 3 books that I often refer back to, to understand and explain how things are: Bad News, The Road to Somewhere by David Goodhart and Values, Voice and Virtue by Matt Goodwin - the three books have interconnected themes and complement each other really well. I wish you well with this venture, and all your ventures!
$$ quote: βMedia credibility is in the toilet because way too many journalists decided it was their job to decide what you should value, and to hide from you what doesnβt promote those values. But itβs your job to decide what to value. Itβs our job to present the most comprehensive view of the issues so you are best equipped to do that, and then to let the chips fall where they may. β
This is it in a nutshell; what itβs all about. Back in the β90βs was enrolled in the Journalism program @ UMD then bailed mid semester since it was nothing more than inculcation into leftist groupthink. The profs though were glad to see me go. I posed too many counterpoints to their left wing agendas.
Donβt want right wing news any more than I want left wing news; give me the straight dope & Iβll make up my own mind.
Sheβs not real. Everything she posts is entirely predictable, promotes literally anything trump says or does. No need to read. Then a bunch of fake accounts come on and repeat over and over how great she is. Real commenters on Substack are nothing like the ones under her posts.

I never got through algebra one part one.

You are so intelligent and such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for your wonderful work.
Love you, Batya!
I love the way you stand up for the low-skilled. You should read my prescription.

Imagine writing this when literally none of what you see is true:
"Iβm an FDR Democrat who sees in President Trump a reincarnation of the socially moderate, anti-war, and pro-labor agenda of FDR..."
You are doing the very thing you speak out against in this very piece! Have some self awareness! It's good for you!
