It’s not that these elites never served; that is totally fine. It’s that they don’t even KNOW anyone who served. If they did, that person could have explained “surf and turf” in twenty seconds. Instead, they all rush onto cable news and X to demonstrate their obliviousness to the sacrifices borne by- and occasional nice meals served to- the brave men and women who defend our way of life.
I spend 26+ years in an Army uniform. In that time, I ate more surf and turf in Iraq and the former Yugoslavia than I did stateside.
To resent our overseas troops eating well every Friday, while giving EBT cards to illegals and lazy native born Americans, is beyond gross.
It’s infuriating. These same people are fine with spending money on 5-star hotel rooms and meals for illegals, but they bemoan paying for food for the very people who willing put themselves at risk to defend their right to have such idiotic opinions.
Good piece. USN here. Just told my wife, if you got a good meal you were F******. I’m willing to give 4-6 weeks here. This is what I wanted in 2001. Eliminate the threat, warn the other enemies and get out. I truly wish the Persian people well but my primary concern is America and Americans.

I’ve now ignore the MSM, but have gotten frustrated by the whining and pretend incomprehension in much of the Right. This operation is complex and risky, yes, but too many MAGA supporters began flipping out basically on Day One. It’s disappointing. I note two distinct flavors of willful blindness.

If you watch WWII movies, a common thing was to feed invasion troops special meals before landing in places like Normandy and islands in the Pacific, and given their tendency toward seasickness, the meals usually ended up on the bottom of the landing craft. 🤮
I am 100% fine with my hard earned tax dollars going to provide good -even fancy- meals for our troops. I would much rather those dollars help our troops rather than going to a non-existent Somali daycare and later ending up in the hands of terrorists or shady NGOs.
