This war is not ending anytime soon. The isolated yet dictatorial Iranian regime is tightening its grip on the population to prevent mass uprisings. Iran has no allies who will help significantly. The Iranian economy is in the process of collapsing.
Trump is bringing NATO into the conflict, begrudgingly, because that’s the oil they buy. The US does not depend on oil that passes through the Sraits of Hormuz. Trump will use the conflict to effect major international maritime policy changes. And his position is maximized by the extent of the crisis. Trump holds a lot of cards
Oil is a global product though Kurt, by definition we do depend on the Strait's oil. Trump will not effect or affect any "international maritime policy changes" because he is a buffoon. He also holds no cards, hence his constant statements that the "war is over" and "we won" despite the strait being closed and all of our allies telling us to shove it.
