You make a good argument, but what’s really important is what we do here in America within our borders. That matters a lot more than this crosshatching of foreign policy that ‘seems good', but is not dealing domestic.

It isn’t any kind of remedy for the Sino intrusions at cyber, medical and University levels. It does not deal decisively with the illicit uses of Real Estate price & economy manipulations, or what the HK triads are doing to the legal pot markets in America, or cartel political corruption in both Canada and Mexico. Finally, it doesn’t deport badly behaving Chinese migrants or their abusive diplomats stealing IP and laundering US personal data for their own strategic income and uses to United Front Groups & the CCP. You cannot make the decapitation of Iran’s foreign government an equivalency to what US law enforcement won’t take action on domestically with China more directly.

So nice to see you've already moved the goalposts.

Does seem like there’s a plan behind all that’s happening. Meeting with Xi will be interesting.

We could get a few chess moves ahead and realize that Iran having nuclear tipped missiles is only a plane ride away from China or NK, perhaps even Russia. The only reason Iran didn't have those is because those countries also didn't want Iran to have them. The dream of a friendly, good neighbor Iran is probably still a fantasy. These attacks have only really prevented the last resort of dropping a nuke on them, which leads to the "no one's done it yet, so maybe it will never happen" gambit (which I think is a fallacy). As for oil, China is working towards nuclear and coal powered electric economy, electric cars, etc. Oil will become less important to them. Our biggest danger from China is that they play the long game, which at this point appears to be infiltrating the world. The only thing slowing China down is their reluctance to adopt a friendly posture. If they ever do that, they are unbeatable.
